General Safety Rules and Regulations

for all A&K Jobsites

The following items or work rules shall be strictly adhered to by all contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.  Failure to comply with any of the following items shall be sufficient cause for immediate dismissal from the job.

 

  1. All personnel will wear hard hats while on the job site.
  2. All personnel must be properly attired for work being performed in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.  In accordance with this item, shirts must be worn at all times, sandals or tennis shoes or other inadequate foot protection will not e allowed.  No short pants will be allowed.
  3. No employee shall report to work in an intoxicated condition.
  4. The introduction, possession, or use of intoxicating beverages or narcotics on the job site is prohibited.
  5. Carrying firearms or explosives on the job site without proper company authorization or other violation of any local, state or federal law on company premises is prohibited.
  6. Subcontractor is responsible for ensuring that competent personnel or operating his trucks and equipment.
  7. No person other than the authorized operator is allowed to ride on any piece of equipment.
  8. No person may ride in or on any vehicles other than on seats constructed for carrying personnel.
  9. Employees may park personnel vehicles only in areas designated by the superintendent.
  10. Reckless driving on the site and other acts of indifference and disregard of safety rules will not be tolerated.
  11. All employees are required to report all injuries or illnesses to their superintendent or foreman immediately.
  12. Striking anyone, on the job site, with an open hand, fist or object, or engaging in any type of physical altercation with any employee or otherwise threatening, intimidating, coercing or interfering with another employees’ work is strictly prohibited.
  13. Stealing, embezzlement, dishonesty, falsification of records, including but not limited to employment applications or other willful misrepresentation of facts will not be permitted.
  14. Gross negligence, gross carelessness or willful acts that results, or could result, in damage to company property or equipment, and/or injury to other employees will not be tolerated.
  15. All employees are urged to report any unsafe working conditions or practices to their superintendent or foreman.
  16. A copy of all “Employers First Report of Injury” reports is to be given to the job superintendent to be kept on file by the Owner’s Insurance Carrier.
  17. Subcontractors are responsible for fall protection for his employees.
  18. The subcontractor is required to attend all safety meetings held by A&K Construction, Inc.  The subcontractor’s on site supervisor is required to attend an sign a form stating that he attended the meeting and a copy sent to A&K Construction, Inc.’s superintendent for the project file.
  19. A copy of the subcontractor’s “Right-to-Know” program shall be submitted to the project superintendent prior to the start of field operations.

Cranes and crane boom will not be placed in service on the job site until his crane and boom is properly placed and secured.
