Community Service

A & K believes that a company's success can be seen by its involvement in its community. It is the community and the people in that community that gives our company its life blood. Through the spending and commerce of each community member, each business succeeds. A & K appreciates the community support it receives in its endeavors. A & K is proud of its community and takes seriously its responsibility to give back to the surrounding areas. To apply for opportunity please contact us at info@akconstruction.com and list your charity's name in the subject line. Please attach a document sharing the charity's charges and goals. 2012 Sunrise Children's Golf outing is scheduled for May 24, 2012

The 2011 Sunrise Children's Services golf tournament sponsored by A&K Construction, Inc. raised over $40,000 to benefit children throughout Kentucky, raising more than $100,000 over the past 3 years. The Sunrise Children's Services is the oldest childcare agency in Kentucky and cares for approximately 500 children per day. Each child in their care has been abused physically, sexually, and/or mentally. They operate 28 offices statewide, including two in Paducah.

It is our goal to help change children's lives

To give the children

• Hope to replace hopelessness
• Security and safety to replace fear
• Allow damaged children to begin healing
• Allow children to feel warmth and love
• Let children know that they are important

River City Mission: New Quadplex opened in 2010

The mission houses an average of 40 to 45 people a day and has served about 30,000 – 40,000 meals a year. The mission, located in Paducah, KY houses homeless men and their families.

A&K built the new quad-plex for our community. The new building is needed to house more families because the mission continues to get calls for housing and currently has to turn people down. The new facility is handicap accessible and has three two-bedroom units and one one-bedroom unit. It will also be larger than the existing cabins already located on its property.

A&K was glad to finance and coordinate the approximately $100,000 cost including its own giving of materials and labor because it is helping keep families together. Additional labor and materials were provided by other local companies and churches. The generosity of the local community was truly inspiring. We are proud to be among so many other people who care so much for the Western Kentucky community.
